Delegation of Faculty and Students from the Convergence College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Future Campus, Yonsei University Visited Shandong University for Exchange

On January 18th, a delegation led by Dean Lee Kiyong from the Convergence College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Future Campus, Yonsei University, the Republic of Korea, visited the School of Management, Shandong University, launching a one-week immersive exchange program. The delegation consisted of 15 members including the Associate Dean Oh Sangdo, professor Park Woojin, two faculty members, and ten student representatives. The two sides conducted in-depth interactions centering on cross-cultural educational exchanges, laying a solid foundation for future talent cultivation and academic cooperation.

On the morning of January 19, accompanied by faculty and students of the School of Management, the delegation visited platforms such as the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Management Disciplines and the National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center, holding in-depth exchanges on software and hardware facilities and exemplary effects. Through practical demonstrations and question and answer sessions, the students gained a direct understanding of the scientific research strength and teaching achievements of the School of Management in the fields of management science and engineering, and business administration. Later, the delegation visited the library of Shandong University to learn about its digital services and ancient book collections, immersing themselves in the rich academic atmosphere. In the afternoon, the students attended the course Cross-cultural Business Negotiation delivered by Dr. Wang Jing. After class, leaders and faculty representatives from both colleges held a discussion, focusing on future cooperation directions.


On January 20, the delegation embarked on a journey to trace the roots of Confucian culture at the Qufu San Kong Scenic Area. At the Confucian Temple, the Confucian Family Mansion and the Confucian Cemetery, they visited iconic landmarks including the Hall of Great Achievement and the First Family Under Heaven inscribed board, listened to historical allusions, and appreciated the profundity and timeless influence of Confucian culture through observing stone inscriptions and digital exhibitions, deepening their understanding of traditional Chinese culture. The next day, the delegation visited the Donge Ejiao Cultural Tourism Scenic Area to explore the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine culture. They learned about the origin of ejiao production at the Donkey Museum, strolled through the Ejiao City to experience the ancient charm of intangible cultural heritage, and enjoyed immersive programs such as naked-eye 3D and 4D cinemas at Ejiao World, experiencing the integration of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. The students also participated in moxibustion experiences and sachet-making activities, comprehending the essence of traditional Chinese medicine health culture through hands-on practice.


On January 22, the delegation visited the Freda Zhimei Science and Technology Park for research and study, touring the Beauty Technology Museum and intelligent production workshops, and experiencing Chinese classical makeup through AI devices to learn about the entire production process of the products. In the afternoon, the students attended the course Empowering Financial Insight and Business Decision-Making taught by teacher Chang Danting, solidifying their theoretical foundation. On the 23rd, Xiang Yixiao gave a lecture titled Ecotourism in China: Symbiosis with Nature, concluding the course and practical sessions of this exchange. On the 24th, the delegation returned to South Korea, marking the successful end of this exchange program.

This exchange enabled the delegation from the Convergence College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Yonsei University to appreciate the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture and the innovative vitality of Chinas higher education, and promoted the two colleges to reach multiple consensuses in academic exchanges and talent cultivation. Taking this exchange as an opportunity, both sides will deepen cross-cultural cooperation, share academic resources, inject new energy into the cultivation of interdisciplinary talents, and jointly write a new chapter in university cooperation.
