School of Management Successfully Completes High-Quality On-Site Reaccreditation Evaluation for PMI-GAC

From January 6 to 8, an expert group from the Project Management Institute—Global Accreditation Center (PMI-GAC) visited the School of Management, Shandong University, to conduct an on-site evaluation of the undergraduate and master's programs in Engineering Management. The expert group consisted of Professor Shi Qian from Tongji University, Chairman of the PMI-GAC China Accreditation Committee; Professor Jiang Zuhua from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Committee Member; and Associate Professor Li Ming from Hohai University, Secretary-General. Li Jiangang, Director of the Center for Teaching Advancement and Faculty Development and Vice Dean of the Undergraduate School of Shandong University; Xu Feng, Vice Dean of the Graduate School, Deputy Director of the Graduate Work Department of the Party Committee, and Director of the Graduate Quality Assurance Office concurrently; Ding Ronggui, Dean of the School of Management, and Fu Yanzhi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Management, received the expert group and held in-depth exchanges on program construction and development.


The on-site evaluation process was rigorous, orderly, and focused. On January 7, the opening ceremony of the on-site visit was held. Li Jiangang and Xu Feng delivered speeches respectively, elaborating on the integration path and connection points between the university's talent training goals, overall development layout, and the talent training of the Engineering Management program. Ding Ronggui introduced the school's historical evolution, development status, and future prospects. Wang Lei, Director of the Department of Project Management and Industrial Engineering and Director of the Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program, gave a report on the program overview, curriculum system and student training plan, student development support, and financial support. The expert group conducted question-and-answer interactions with the school team on key issues such as the dynamic matching of curriculum objectives with industrial needs and the application of digital teaching tools. Accompanied by school teachers, they also conducted on-site inspections of the Smart Management Laboratory and the university library, gaining a detailed understanding of teaching facilities, research platforms, and learning resource support. On the afternoon of the same day, the evaluation entered the stages of teacher discussions and in-depth document review. The expert group held in-depth discussions with teacher representatives on curriculum design, teacher training, and research work, and conducted strict spot checks on training plans, course syllabuses, student theses, and assessment materials over the past five years.


On January 8, the evaluation focused on student growth and stakeholder feedback. Li Kang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Management, reported on the student support work. Students, alumni, and industry/enterprise representatives participated in separate forums, providing evidence from multiple dimensions such as learning experience, career development, and university-enterprise cooperation, demonstrating the social responsiveness and practical effectiveness of the school's talent training. On the afternoon of the same day, the expert group held a feedback meeting, giving positive evaluations to the school's work in curriculum structure, the professional vitality of the faculty, and the uniqueness of the MEM program. At the same time, they put forward constructive suggestions on strengthening the cultivation of cross-cultural project management capabilities and optimizing the uniformity of project delivery. On behalf of the school, Ding Ronggui expressed sincere thanks to the expert group for their professional guidance; the school will systematically sort out the feedback from this evaluation, translate it into specific actions for continuous improvement, further align the talent training system with international cutting-edge standards, and continuously enhance the quality and international competitiveness of talent training in the Engineering Management program.


Wang Jing, Director of the International Cooperation and Accreditation Center, presided over the opening ceremony. Huang Xiaoting, Vice Dean, Yu Guodong, Assistant Dean, teacher representatives from the Department of Project Management and Industrial Engineering, and heads of relevant departments attended the event.
