Undergraduate



The School of Management provides undergraduate programs in Business Administration and Management Science and Engineering, including two “advanced + characteristic” programs (Business Administration  and Accounting in Business Administration) and two “emerging + characteristic” programs (Supply Chain Management and Engineering Management in Management Science and Engineering). The two innovative and experimental classes of Business Administration and Intelligent Engineering and Management are offered by the School, based on the first-level disciplines of Business Administration and Management Science and Engineering. Guided by academic developments and innovative education, the School has long been committed to cultivating high-quality talent in management research.


The School has continued to make breakthroughs in education and teaching. Its faculty has been approved as a national teaching team and has won second prize in the National Teaching Achievements awards for two consecutive years. The quality of its academic and educational output has continuously improved, and the discipline of Business Administration is now a standard national subject. Its Business Administration and Accounting programs have also been selected as national first-class subjects.


I. Business Administration

(1) Training objectives

The discipline of Business Administration focuses on the basic theories and general methods of economic management in industrial and commercial enterprises, which include the formulation of business strategies and internal behavior management. The five sub-disciplines are Enterprise Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, International Business, and Culture and Tourism Management. The School shares the objective of becoming a world-class academic and educational institution with Shandong University, and has made major advances in educational terms. Through the comprehensive teaching of modern management theories and methods in addition to those of traditional Qilu culture, students can develop an international outlook, take on social responsibilities, fulfill their domestic requirements, and contribute to society and human progress. The School thus looks forward to producing more business pioneers and elite professionals at the national level.


The four-year business and management training prepares graduates to work in renowned enterprises and research institutions at home and abroad, to continue studies in international universities and research institutes, or to start their own businesses. Five years of practical experience after graduation qualifies them for roles in business management or academic research, and they can gradually develop their business and management expertise to ensure they remain competitive.

Special courses in Human Resource Management: Personnel Quality Assessment, Recruitment and Screening, Performance Management, Salary Management, Training and Development, Career Management, Labor Economics, and Employee Relationship Management.


Special courses in Marketing: Consumer Behavior, Market Research and Forecast, Big Data Marketing, Sales Management, Service Marketing, Marketing Channel Management, Customer Relationship Management, and Frontier Lectures on Marketing.


Special courses in International Business: International Trade Theory, International Trade Practice, International Investment, International Finance, International Commercial Law, International Logistics, Global Marketing, Transnational Corporation Management, and Frontier Lectures on International Business.


Special courses in Culture and Tourism Management: Eco-tourism, Tourism Destination Management, Travel Agency Business Management, Tourism Service Management, and Entrepreneurship Management of Tourism and Service Enterprise.


II. Accounting

(1) Training objectives

Accounting is an applied discipline based on the theories of economics and management, which include theories and skills in accounting, finance, auditing, law, and other aspects. The training goal is to develop high-quality combined management skills in students, by providing them with the primary expertise and comprehensive ability to analyze and solve problems in accounting, finance, auditing, and allied practices.


Graduates will be qualified to work in financial accounting, financial finance, auditing, and other areas, and in teaching and research in enterprises and institutions, government departments, banks, funds, securities brokers, and accounting firms, along with other financial and intermediary institutions.


(2) Core curriculum

The courses offered include Principles of Management, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Business Law, Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior, Enterprise Management Simulation, Business Ethics, Primary Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Senior Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Tax Law, Auditing, Accounting Information Systems, Financial Statement Analysis, Accounting English, and Accounting Research Methods.


III. Supply Chain Management

(1) Training objectives

Supply Chain Management is an emerging discipline based on Logistics and Procurement Management, Marketing, E-commerce, Finance, Information Network Technology, and other disciplines. Cutting-edge technologies are applied, including big data, artificial intelligence, and deep learning. The aim is to cultivate all-round high-quality professionals with knowledge and expertise in Economics, Management, Data Analysis, Operations Research, Procurement Management, Manufacturing Planning and Control, Marketing Management, Supply Chain System Planning and Design, Supply Chain Modeling and Simulation, and other fields.


Graduates will be qualified to work in industrial and commercial enterprises, specialist supply-chain organizations, and government departments focusing on supply chain management and research.


(2) Core curriculum

To meet certification standards and ensure progress in the discipline, courses are developed with an emphasis on core characteristics, theories, and expertise. These include Operation Management (Bilingual), Logistics Management, Supply Chain Finance, Introduction to Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain System Planning and Design, Supply Chain Resource Planning, Supply Chain Modeling and Simulation, Supply Chain Risk Management, and Sustainable Supply Chain Management.


IV. Engineering Management

(1) Training objectives

Engineering Management is a new interdisciplinary subject under Engineering Technology and Management. The aim is to cultivate well-rounded senior management talents by providing them with knowledge and expertise in Management, Economics, Information Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Modern Management Sciences.


Graduates will be qualified to take on project decision-making, investment, and financing roles, in addition to whole-process project management and operations management in engineering construction and real estate, both at home and abroad.


(2) Core curriculum

The courses offered include Civil Engineering Drawing, Engineering Mechanics, Building Structure, Introduction to Engineering Project Management, Engineering Procurement and Contract Management, Engineering Evaluation and Cost, Construction, Engineering Information Management, Real Estate Development and Operation, Construction Organization and Schedule Management, and Introduction to BIM.


V. Innovative Experimental Class in Business Administration

(1) Training objectives

This class supports social development, economic construction strategies, and enterprise growth, and equips students with knowledge of modern management theories, tools, and methods, calculation and data, and traditional Qilu culture, and with an international outlook. Students are encouraged to take on social responsibilities, and to develop as business pioneers, national elites, and contributors to the global community.

The courses provided include Principles of Management, Organization Behavior, Accounting, Statistics, Strategic Management, Operation Management, Entrepreneurial Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Corporate Governance, Business Ethics, Corporate Finance, International Trade, and Management Research Methods.


VI. Innovative Experimental Class in Intelligent Engineering and Management

(1) Training objectives

This class is aimed at developing well-rounded senior engineering technical management talents, who have the leadership skills to take on the research and development of enterprise digitization and to coordinate large-scale projects. Thus, they can play a leading role in China’s enterprise digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing upgrading and development and will have the potential to become world-class scientists, entrepreneurs, or engineers. The course is based on the principles of academic advancement and innovative education, and applicants are accepted from all of the schools in Shandong University. The class has strict limitations on the number of undergraduates it can accept, and a large proportion of master program recommendations.
