EMBA

Programs

Shandong University was founded in 1901 as the second Chinese national university after the establishment of the Imperial University of Peking (the predecessor of Peking University). It comes under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education. Its long history, diverse disciplines, strengths, and distinctive approach make Shandong a leading university with a significant influence both at home and abroad. It was among the first of China’s high-level universities to be included in both “Project 211” and “Project 985.” In 2009, Shandong University was authorized by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education to grant EMBA professional degrees, and remains the only university to do so in Shandong province.

The Shandong Public Commercial School was integrated into Shandong University in 1912 and a business major was set up. In 1928, The Department of Business was established, and Shandong University became one of the earliest universities in China to grant a bachelor’s degrees in business. Shandong University has overcome numerous challenges since its inception, and in 2009 it began to recruit EMBA students from all over China, thus confirming its cultural significance and firmly cementing its place in Chinese history.

School of Management includes a wide range of management disciplines and a high-quality faculty, and thus represents an important educational and research base for enterprise management in China. It has produced many management talents who have gone on to work in fields such as social politics, economy, and culture. To meet the requirements of China’s reform and opening-up policy for high-level enterprise managers, the School of Management has taken full advantage of its disciplinary strengths. Comparable to other world-class business schools, the School of Management recognizes the current state of management in China, and has formulated a unique, practical, and outstanding EMBA program accordingly. This program takes advantage of the University’s cultural significance and extensive international network and is aimed at cultivating high-level management elites with an international vision who can support China’s social and economic development.
