About Us

School of Management, Shandong University is located in Shandong province. It is strongly influenced by Confucian culture and thus retains its traditional Chinese characteristics while aiming to be a first-class international management school. By promoting knowledge and cultivating leaders for China and the wider world, the School endeavors to ensure graduates have a social influence in both the local community and nationally. The discipline of Business Administration was graded as A- in the 4th round of the China Discipline Ranking (2017) and was placed among the top 10% soft disciplines between 2016 and 2019. It was also the only discipline listed in the Peak Discipline Plan of Shandong Province in 2020. The discipline of Management Science and Engineering has an international education focus and can be characterized as “Management Science Plus,” and features a discipline system aimed at cultivating all-round talent. The National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center for the management discipline, and an innovative teaching team set up by the Ministry of Education are all part of the School of Management.

Based on the two first-level doctoral disciplines of Management Science and Engineering and Business Administration, both academic and professional master’s and doctorate programs have been set up, such as the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA), Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc), Master of Auditing (MAud), Master of Engineering Management (MEM), Master of Tourism Administration (MTA), and the International Master of Project Management (IMPM).

Through its various faculties, the School of Management has nurtured outstanding professionals who can make major contributions to society. The School focuses on learners and high-quality education and aims to create a positive learning culture that has space for each and every student. The School aims to inspire the next generation of leaders to address the changing needs of the nation over time, and to prepare the students with a solid academic foundation, life skills, and the innovative spirit to succeed in the future.

Education Features

Innovative Education Model of Bachelor, Master, and Doctor

The approach is based on master–doctor run-through , and the concepts of “Openness, Integration and Innovation” and “Diversity and Connection.” The School is committed to developing the creativity of management postgraduates and distinguished professional degree programs involve knowledge related to national, industrial, and regional development. Through these, the faculty can share first-hand practical experience of management and enable students to select two tutors from the school.

Integrated Education to Develop Talents with Extensive Abilities

The faculty comprises scholars and teachers from both China and abroad and experts from governments and enterprises, who are acclaimed for their interdisciplinary insights in management expertise. Together, they create an inclusive environment for study, research, and internship. The curriculum system has a solid foundation and consists of innovative theories and methods taught through interdisciplinary classes and expert workshops in English but with Chinese features. Thus, an international yet localized context is provided. Based on the two national centers of experimental and virtual simulation teaching, the School has developed a diversified, three-dimensional, and intelligent teaching system.

Education Support for Student Growth

Students get opportunities to acquire awards and subsidies in a wide range of areas, including the National Scholarship, President’s Scholarship, Academic Star Award, Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, Outstanding Practice Achievement Award, Merit Scholarship, and other social scholarships and subsidies. The School provides career development courses and employment counseling, and regularly holds activities such as CV interview contests and the Alumni Return Day to enhance the overall competence of learners as part of their career development.

Belt and Road Initiative: Networking with the World

International Master of Project Management (IMPM) program is accredited by the International Project Management Association (IPMA) and the Project Management Institute Global Accreditation Center (PMI-GAC), and has become a leading program in terms of its extensive influence at home and abroad. The School also promotes international cooperation through partnerships with universities worldwide, including those in the U.S., Canada, Australia, France, Japan, and South Korea. The education system provides many opportunities for overseas study along with financial support for international exchanges.
