Faculty & Research

The academic team of the School of Management consists of leading scholars and teachers of all levels of experience. It maintains close cooperation with both domestic and foreign academics. Currently, the team consists of 154 full-time teachers, 45 of whom are professors and 86 are associate professors. To further improve the quality of the teaching staff, the School has established a system of Chair/Distinguished Professors and Visiting Professors and has employed various experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs with extensive academic attainment and experience in management practice as part-time professors.

The scientific research strength of the School has continued to improve. Over the past five years, 48 national projects have been approved and supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Fund of China, or through the National Key R&D Program of China (Ministry of Science and Technology). An additional 35 provincial and ministerial projects in Humanities and Social Science have been approved by the Ministry of Education or the Publicity Ministry of the CPC Central Committee. Over 500 research papers have been published in academic journals such as Production and Operations Management, the Journal of Applied Psychology, Management World, and others, both nationally and internationally. An additional 24 provincial- and ministerial-level awards have been obtained, and five cases have been selected for the “100 Excellent Management Cases in China.” The School is also committed to integrating the development of disciplines with the improvement of social services, and thus supports key national or regional development strategies such as the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the “Major Project of Transforming Old into New Drivers.” The School has set up the Shandong Provincial Talent Development Strategic Research Institute with the Organization Department of Shandong Provincial Party Committee. It has also developed a Think-tank for the Premium Tourism Industry and the Shandong University Tourism Industry Research Institute with the former Shandong Provincial Tourism Development Council. These are based on the Shandong Provincial Economic Management Research Base, the Corporate Governance Research Center of Shandong University, and other scientific research platforms, and are aimed at providing intelligent support for government decision-making and enterprise development.
