    • EQUIS

EQUIS is an international assessment system of strategic review, quality improvement, and accreditation for schools in widely differing national contexts. The EQUIS standards for international management education were originally drawn up to address the broad cultural diversity of schools in Europe, but can be applied to schools in any cultural environment in any region. The EQUIS scheme was launched in 1997 by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). Through close cooperation, national accreditation bodies in the field of management education worked together in the European Quality Link (EQUAL) association to develop the scheme. The concepts underpinning the scheme are therefore quite different from the traditional, national accreditation approaches. The EQUIS model remains a uniquely international construct, and its framework is designed to embrace diversity and to facilitate the trans-national development of the schools involved.
