The Q3 2023 Cross-border E-commerce Salon and Young Scholar Forum Held

On September 15, the Q3 2023 Cross-border E-commerce Salon and Young Scholar Forum was held in Weifang, Shandong Province, hosted by the Office of the Talent Work Leading Group of Weifang Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, Weifang Comprehensive Insurance Zone Talent Development Group Co., Ltd., and the School of Management of Shandong University. The activity includes two parts: the keynote reports and the Young Scholars Forum.




Zhang Xiaofeng, Assistant Dean of the School of Management of Shandong University and director of the Department of Strategy and Innovation and Entrepreneurship, made a keynote report entitled “Efficient Team Building and Leadership Enhancement”, which was introduced with the topics of customer demand identification, problems in team building, and the implementation of scientific theories and practical operation of management, and cited examples from the aspects of driving mechanism, behavioral dynamics and chain system. He put forward that the team building could not be separated from the excellent leader, and expounded on the leadership qualities of wisdom, faith, benevolence, courage, and strictness based on the angle of traditional culture, which is of strong practical significance to further create an atmosphere of “learning from and competing with each other to strive for excellence”.





In the Young Scholars Forum, Zhang Xiaofeng, Associate Professor Ren Rong and Assistant Professor Zheng Qiuxia from the School of Management of Shandong University attended the forum as critics. Dr. Lu Tianchi of Peking University, Dr. Sun Qian of Shandong University, masters Jin Yingjie and Li Mengxue of Shandong University, masters Kong Weiran and Tang Haoran of Shandong University of Finance and Economics shared their views on the new trend, new issues and countermeasures and suggestions of cross-border e-commerce development, and the experts and scholars commented on the exchanges. Young Scholars Forum was hosted by Zheng Qiuxia.



Lu Tianchi gave a report entitled “Technology Substitution and Competitive Initiative Analysis of General Purpose Computing Hardware Manufacturers”, introducing the landmarks and changes in technological characteristics of AI development since 2012, and discussing thoughts on the future development of AI. Sun Qian gave a report entitled “China’s Cross-border E-commerce Driven by AI: Opportunities and Challenges”, combining the two cases of Ali international station’s all-link AI products and digital human live broadcast to show the application of AI in China’s cross-border e-commerce, analyzing and summarizing the future development direction of China’s cross-border e-commerce in the “AI” Era, and putting forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. Jin Yingjie gave a report entitled “The Influence of Consumer Participation in Value Co-creation on Brand Preference of Cross-border E-commerce”, analyzing the value co-creation behavior of consumers and exploring how to promote cross-border e-commerce enterprises to build up their brand preference through value co-creation based on the environment of the digital economy and the rapid development of cross-border e-commerce. Li Mengxue presented a report entitled “2023 China’s Cross-border E-commerce Development Status and Trend Judgment”, analyzing China’s import and export of goods and cross-border e-commerce development status, and further predicting the future development trend with the two cross-border e-commerce platforms of TEMU and TIKTOK as the introduction. Kong Weiran gave a report entitled “Research on the Impact of Manufacturing Digitization Level on the High-Quality Development of Export Trade”, introducing the relationship and impact mechanism between the manufacturing digitization level and the high-quality development status of export trade in the context of the new development pattern. Tang Haoran made a report entitled “Research on the Impact of Digitalization Level on Total Factor Productivity of Manufacturing Export Enterprises”, analyzing the data from the annual reports of listed export enterprises from 2010 to 2022, and drawing the core conclusion that the improvement of digitization level has a significant facilitating effect on the improvement of total factor productivity of manufacturing exporters.








Participants discussed and exchanged views on the needs and problems of high-end talents, talent training and development, and other difficult issues, and experts and scholars offered advice for enterprises. This activity aims to promote the integration of university and local development, university and enterprise innovation, build a “win-win” bridge of the talent attraction and training and the research results transformation, promoting the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce in Weifang, and helping enterprises attract and retain talent with various resources and elements.
