On the morning of October 16th, Jiang Ningtao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Zhang Zhengqiang, Director of Corporate Culture, and their team of Weichai Holding Group Co., Ltd. visited the School of Management of Shandong University. Wu Changqi, Dean of the School, and Cai Di, Professor of the Department of Leadership and Organizational Management and Director of the Management Case Center of Shandong University, attended the exchange seminar.
Wu Changqi welcomed Jiang Ningtao and his team, and briefly introduced the School’s faculty, discipline and specialty construction, research and research platforms, and other development overviews of School. He pointed out that Weichai Group is a leading industrial equipment multinational group in China with significant influence in the world, and the School has carried out various forms of cooperation and exchanges with Weichai Group in the early stage with good results. It is hoped that the seminar will be an opportunity to promote Weichai Group’s advanced management concepts and practices into cases, education materials, and lessons through field visits and in-depth exchanges at a later stage, and to establish a long-term communication mechanism by taking projects as the lead and problems as the guide. Professor Cai made a brief introduction to the preliminary cooperation between the School and the Weichai Group.
Jiang Ningtao briefly introduced the Group’s development, Weichai Operating System (WOS), and corporate culture. He said that the implementation of WOS can help the Weichai Group leap from an excellent enterprise to an outstanding enterprise which is an urgent need to enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of the enterprise, the effective way to consolidate the Group management foundation, and also the resultful means to practice the concept of WOS comprehensively. It is hoped that through cooperation with universities, the existing cases will be refined and perfected so that the excellent practice of the enterprise can be rationalized, theorized, and disciplined. Zhang Zhengqiang and Su Ming elaborated on the task progress and cooperation direction of Weichai Group.
At the seminar, the two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on further cooperation and will orderly promote comprehensive strategic cooperation in phases and at different levels with case development as an entry point.
