Subsequently, Shi Yan elaborated on the strategic cooperation of Nishan Sacredland from the aspects of platform construction, education and teaching, talent training, scientific research and cultural brand activities.

Great time asks for great undertakings

Hua Xiaoning shared initial ideas of undertaking and participating in the development of Nishan Sacredland, and hoped that in Nishan, the birthplace of Confucius and the source of Confucian culture, the development mission of “Confucius’s World, World of Confucius” could be realized. As tourism and culture are mutually reinforcing, Nishan Sacredland would become a leading institute of Chinese traditional and reveal the cultural confidence of the Chinese nation.

Take down-to-earth actions from a strategically advantageous position

Zhu Junhua said that through the strong alliance of enterprises with Shandong University, the construction of the cultural system of Nishan Sacredland can be highly recognized as a national cultural project. As responsible undertakers, each side would work together to build a national model demonstration area for the integration of the teaching, learning and research of Confucianism, as well as a model of school-enterprise cooperation, so as to give full play to the value of cultural samples and create more social benefits.

Integrate multiple advantageous resources to realize a deeply integrated development mode of “1 +X”

Peng Hongwei said that the Gengdu Classical Learning Academy is one of the important projects for the construction of the Nishan Sacredland Civilization Forum, which carries extraordinary historical and cultural values and is a landmark project with epoch-making significance. Under the framework of the four-party strategic cooperation of Nishan Sacredland, relying on the disciplinary advantages of the School of Management of Shandong University, Nishan is jointly built into a demonstration area for the inheritance and development of excellent traditional culture through school-enterprise cooperation, so as to realize the deep integration of 1+X resources.

Strengthen the integration of industry and education to establish a leading institute in Chinese management thoughts and practice

Ji Xiaoqing introduced the current development of Shandong University and its School of Management from four perspectives of “old, big, strong and new”. Ji XiaoQing pointed out that China’s higher education has come to a crossroad, and hoped that relying on Nishan Sacredland, a model that integrates industry and education can be built. This Base of Chinese Management Thoughts and Practice can cultivate talents to meet the needs of national strategic development and modern enterprise development, and facilitate the enterprise growth and development by concluding Chinese management thoughts from Confucian classics.

At this meeting, the four parties jointly planned the blueprint of Gengdu Classical Learning Academy of Nishan Sacredland Project based on the principle of “complementary advantages, mutual benefit, pragmatic innovation and win-win cooperation”. In the future, it is expected to build into a comprehensive academic research center integrating “The Belt and Road Classical Learning Academy”, “Shandong University - Nishan Sacredland China Management Thoughts and Practice Base”, Shandong University Internship Teaching Base, and Shandong University Graduate Joint Training Base.

Nishan is the birthplace of Confucius, the great philosopher of China, and the holy land for Confucian scholars to worship in the past dynasties. According to Records of the Historian, Confucius’ parents prayed at Niqiu and give birth to Confucius, and Nishan is thus famous. Confucius got the name Zhongni because of Nishan. Because Confucius later epitomized the Confucian school, Nishan became one of the important symbols of the source of Chinese culture, the beginning of Confucian culture and was called the “cradle of Confucianism”, well-renown as Lumbini, Jerusalem, Mecca and Athens.

In the 21st century, over 2560 years after Confucius, China has embarked on a new period of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation after several hundred years of want and weakness and the exploration of self-innovation and constant perseverance. Hence, in the context of a community of shared future and responsibility for human beings, China is taking a more and more important mission of finding out the vibrant source of Chinese cultures to awaken cultural consciousness, restore cultural confidence, and realize cultural self-improvement, becoming the strongest voice in this new era. In doing so, Nishan once again becomes the highlight of Chinese culture. (Photo and Text/Fuyao)
