On July 17, the Third Jinan Alumni Economy Dual Recruitment and Introduction Conference was held at the Beijing-Shanghai Living Room. The Yangtze River Delta Branch of the School of Management Alumni Association of Shandong University was invited to attend and honored as one of the inaugural “Jinan Alumni Dual Recruitment and Introduction Partners”, while its president, Ren Xinjian, was simultaneously appointed as the “Ambassador for Jinan Alumni Dual Recruitment and Introduction”. This dual recognition marks the official integration of the Yangtze River Delta Branch into Jinan’s core collaborative network for alumni economic development, establishing it as a vital platform connecting talent, industries, and resources between Shanghai and Shandong.
Hosted by the Jinan Municipal Talent Office and organized by the Jinan Investment Promotion Bureau and other institutions, the conference brought together over 400 alumni entrepreneurs, senior professionals, and leaders from more than 200 universities worldwide. It stands as a major event in Jinan’s alumni economy sector, renowned for its high profile and broad influence. The conference comprehensively reviewed the achievements of Jinan’s alumni economic development over the past two years, including signing 46 alumni-led projects, attracting 3.5 billion yuan in investment, appointing 207 dual recruitment and introduction ambassadors, and releasing the nation’s first city-level “Blue Book on Alumni Economic Development”, positioning Jinan among China’s leading cities in alumni-driven economic growth.
During the award ceremony, Chen Yang, member of the Standing Committee of the Jinan Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Organization, and Lü Tao, member of the Standing Committee and Vice Mayor of Jinan, jointly presented certificates to the awardees. Ren Xinjian, representing top-tier university alumni, received his appointment on stage. Subsequently, Zhu Dejian, member of the Standing Committee of the Shandong University Party Committee and Vice President, presented plaques to key university alumni associations, with Sun Feng, Executive President of the Yangtze River Delta Branch, receiving the plaque for the “Jinan Alumni Dual Recruitment and Introduction Partner”. The dual honors reflect the high recognition by the Jinan municipal government for the outstanding contributions of the Shandong University School of Management’s Yangtze River Delta Branch.
Established officially in Shanghai in January this year, the Yangtze River Delta Branch of the School of Management Alumni Association of Shandong University remains committed to its founding mission of “Emotional Connection, Shared Value Creation, and Giving Back to the Alma Mater”. It has already gathered nearly 600 outstanding alumni from the Yangtze River Delta region across core fields such as enterprise management, finance and investment, and technological innovation. To actively support Jinan’s dual recruitment and introduction initiatives, the branch has convened multiple specialized meetings, dispatched core members to Jinan for coordination, and established dedicated task forces to ensure implementation—laying a solid foundation for earning this prestigious honor. During the conference, the core team of the sub-association actively participated in a series of supporting activities, including panel discussions, industrial site visits, and thematic salons. They engaged in in-depth exchanges with relevant organizations such as Jinan Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau and the New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion Starting Zone, reaching multiple cooperative agreements on alumni resource connectivity, industry-academia-research integration, project implementation, and talent attraction and development. The event also innovatively promoted alumni economy to empower county-level development, facilitating paired assistance between stronger and weaker counties, thereby further expanding the radiating value of the alumni economy.
