Zhao Yanfei, a member of the School of Management's 1999 undergraduate cohort, has been elected a Fellow of the British Academy. He is Professor of Strategy and Deputy Dean for Research at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and is one of two Oxford social scientists in this year's group of new Fellows.
Zhao's work spans strategic management, organization theory and entrepreneurship. His recent research focuses on artificial intelligence and strategy: how firms create and capture value during major technological and institutional change, and how they keep adapting in the AI era.
The British Academy has more than 1,750 Fellows across the social sciences and humanities, elected for outstanding achievement and for contributions to the public good through their research. Zhao is one of 74 newly elected Fellows this year. They come from universities, think tanks, research institutes and public research funders in the UK, Canada, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, New Zealand and elsewhere.
