On July 19, Wu Changqi, Dean of the School of Management of Shandong University, visited Qingdao and attended the seminar of the EMBA Qingdao Alumni Association of Shandong University to celebrate the 120th Anniversary of SDU. An awarding ceremony of “Alumni Home of the School of Management” was held at the seminar. Xia Mingjie, Chairman of EMBA Qingdao Alumni Association of Shandong University, Zhao Yiqun, Feng Enjie, Yuan Fang, Vice Chairman of the Association, Liu Yong, Vice Chairman and Secretary General, and other alumni attended the seminar. Zheng Gongxia, fromMBA Class of 2017, chaired the seminar.
At the seminar, Wu Changqi, first of all, on behalf of the School, expressed his gratitude to all the alumni who have been caring and supporting the development of the School, and introduced its achievements in personnel cultivation, discipline development, scientific research and other aspects. Wu stressed that alumni would be the precious wealth of the School, the inheritor and promoter to the school culture and tradition, the important motivator of school construction and development, and an important part of the School’s family forever. The School has always been concerned about the growth of the alumni, hoping that alumni would go back often, share their success stories, enlighten students’ growth and help the School’s development.
Shi Yan, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Management, reported the development of alumni work of the School, saying that the School would give full play to its advantages in scientific research and talent pool to strengthen cooperation with alumni enterprises and promote the collaborative development of enterprises, universities, and research institutes. Shi also hoped that, with the platform of the Alumni House of the School of Management, the School would help the career development of alumni.
During the exchange session, Xia Mingjie introduced that more than 100 alumni had joined the EMBA Qingdao Alumni Association of Shandong University since its establishment in 2012. Alumni entrepreneurs have organized enterprise visits and “mutual consultation” activities for six consecutive years, providing intellectual support and business mutual assistance for the development of alumni enterprises. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the EMBA Alumni Association in Qingdao. The seminar has invited leaders and teachers of the School to come to Qingdao and give alumni “another lesson”.
