On May 22 (local time), Professor Ding Ronggui, Dean of the School of Management, Shandong University, visited the Graduate School of Management, Politecnico di Milano in Italy and attended a collaboration forum hosted by the Graduate School of Management. Held at the Bovisa Campus, the event aimed to foster deeper exchanges and multi-party cooperation between Chinese and Italian higher education institutions and enterprises.
Distinguished attendees included Yao Liangjun, Consul of the Chinese Consulate General in Milan, Professor Sergio Terzi, Delegate for Internationalization at Polimi Department of Management Engineering and Associate Dean for Internationalization and Quality, POLIMI GSoM, Professor Gabriella Bolzon, Delegate for the Relationships with Chinese Universities, POLIMI School of Civil Engineering, Delia Olivetto, Director of Strategic Partnerships - Asia Pacific, POLIMI GSoM, Hu Wei, General Manager, Engineering Services Department, ZTE Italy, Sergio Vanoli, Regional Manager, ZTE Italy, Ma Xiaohan, Legal Representative of Genertec Italia S.r.l, and Mr. Li Dongzhe, Director of HisenseHitachi European Research Institute.
Yao fully affirmed the prospects for China-Italy cooperation between universities and industries. He noted that the deepening bilateral relations present a valuable opportunity for advancing integration between education and industry and encouraged universities and enterprises to expand collaboration and create exemplary partnerships. Professor Sergio Terzi extended a warm welcome to Ding and the delegation, and provided an overview of POLIMI GSoM’s internationalization strategy. Ding introduced the School of Management, highlighting its academic strengths, global partnerships, and overseas alumni network, and reviewed the School’s recent progress in international engagement. During the open discussion, both parties engaged in in-depth dialogue on topics such as student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and visiting programs. They also exchanged views with representatives of Chinese enterprises in Italy on how universities can better serve industrial development and empower regional economies under the current China–Italy trade and investment context.


Witnessed by attendees, the School of Management of Shandong University and POLIMI GSoM reached a consensus on future collaboration and signed a Memorandum of Understanding, laying a solid foundation for initiatives including joint training programs, short-term exchanges, and academic cooperation.
The visit and exchange activity, held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the China–Italy Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, marked a continued step forward in international collaboration. It not only established a high-level cooperation platform between the two institutions but also injected new momentum into China–Europe academic–industry synergy through the creation of a university–government–enterprise collaborative mechanism.
