Delegation from School of Business at Soochow University Visited School of Management and Signed Memorandum of Understanding

On the morning of March 31,a delegation of five members, including Roan, Jinshyang, Dean of the School of Business at Soochow University (Taiwan), Associate Professor Hung-Tai Tsou from the Department of Business Administration and Cheng-Hsun Wu, Director of the Department of Financial Engineering and Actuarial Mathematics, visited the School of Management at Shandong University for a discussion and exchange session. The visit focused on cutting-edge topics in management science and aimed to deepen strategic collaboration between the two institutions under the principle of“complementary strengths and coordinated development by establishing a high-level dialogue platform. Fu Yanzhi, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Management, Vice Dean Tang Guiyao and teacher representatives attended the meeting. Wang Jing, Director of the International Cooperation and Accreditation Center, presided over the meeting.

Fu warmly welcomed the delegation. He noted that the academic exchange builds upon the strong tradition of cooperation between the two schools and provides an important opportunity to establish a regular communication mechanism in the new era. He expressed hope that both parties would further strengthen mutual understanding through the dialogue and jointly contribute to the integrated development of business education across the Taiwan Strait by deepening collaboration in academia, industry, and research.

Tang provided an overview of the schools achievements in high-quality talent cultivation, innovative research, social engagement, global impact, and MBA program development.

Roan introduced the overall profile of the School of Business at Soochow University, highlighting its initiatives in promoting English-medium instruction and the development of research and innovation centers. He emphasized the school’s interdisciplinary curriculum, which is supported by a diversified network of academic, industry, and cultural exchange platforms. The school is committed to fostering talents with interdisciplinary capabilities and global perspectives, offering abundant opportunities for both faculty and students.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize the collaboration.

The discussion explored innovative approaches to disciplinary development and practical models of academia-industry integration, laying a solid foundation for future strategic cooperation and joint cultivation of business talents. The event marked a new chapter in the coordinated development of higher education across the Taiwan Strait.

Founded in Suzhou in 1900, Soochow University was the first Western-style university in China. It was re-established in Taiwan in 1954 as the first private university. The institution has excelled across multiple disciplines, particularly in law and business, and enjoys a strong academic reputation both domestically and internationally, having cultivated a large number of distinguished alumni.
