The 12th IACMR Research Methods Workshop opened on the evening of July 7 at Shandong University. The workshop is hosted by the International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR) and organized by the School of Management at Shandong University.
The workshop features distinguished experts from renowned universities worldwide, including: Professor Chen Xiaoping from the University of Washington (online), Professor Huang Xu from Hong Kong Baptist University, Professor Jia Liangding from Nanjing University, Associate Professor Jiang Han from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Professor Jing Runtian from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Li Ning from Tsinghua University, Professor Liang Jian from Tongji University, Professor Liu Wu from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Assistant Professor Majid Majzoubi from University of York, Professor Stratos Ramoglou from University of Southampton (online), Professor Shen Wei from Arizona State University, Associate Professor Song Zhaoli from National University of Singapore, Professor Zhang Zhen from Southern Methodist University, Professor Zhang Zhixue from Peking University, and Professor Zhao Yanfei from University of Oxford.
Attending the opening ceremony were Wu Changqi, Dean of the School of Management at Shandong University, Party Secretary Fu Yanzhi, Professors Wang Yimin and Xu Yuehua, Associate Professors Ma Zixiang and Tian Xiaocong, and Assistant Professor Xiao Shufeng. Professor Xu Yuehua hosted the ceremony.
Professor Wu Changqi, representing the School of Management at Shandong University, warmly welcomed the distinguished experts, scholars and guests who traveled from afar. He provided a concise introduction to both the university and the school, emphasizing the importance of uncovering Chinese management wisdom to advance an Eastern management philosophy. In the context of globalization, informatization and digitization. He encouraged collaboration to collectively explore and develop Chinese management thought.
Professor Jing Runtian, the current president of IACMR and chair of the 2024 Workshop, provided a detailed introduction of the International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR). He explained the core purpose and history of the IACMR Research Methods Workshop, highlighted the outstanding contributions of the attendees, and outlined the conference agenda. He expressed hope that everyone would take this opportunity for meaningful exchanges and contribute to the development of the management discipline.
At the end of the ceremony, Professors Wu Changqi, Jing Runtian, and Zhang Zhixue, the former president of IACMR, expressed their gratitude once again for everyone's attendance.
The International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR) is a professional academic organization dedicated to promoting academic research in the field of organizational management in the Chinese context. It is recognized as a world-class academic research organization with significant authority in Chinese business management studies. To date, it has hosted 11 Research Methods Workshops at universities across the country. 2024 workshop will take place from July 7 to 11 at Shandong University, featuring a team of distinguished professors from around the world who will deliver a series of academic lectures and lead student group discussions.
