To actively create a good platform for academic exchange and promote the modernization of disciplines, the Marketing Technology and Innovation Academic Salon and Discipline Development Forum was held at Shandong University on July 3.
The conference was organized by the Marketing and International Business Department of Shandong University's School of Management. It featured distinguished guests, including Professor Chen Haipang from the University of Iowa, Professor Zhou Xinyue from Zhejiang University, Professor Yang Zhilin and Associate Professor Su Lei from City University of Hong Kong, Researcher Li Yina from the University of Science and Technology of China, Associate Professor Pang Jun from Renmin University of China, Assistant to the Dean, Assistant Professor Chen Zengxiang from Sun Yat-sen University, Associate Professor Chen Rui from Xiamen University, Professor Xu Xiaobing from Hainan University, Associate Professor Yao Qing from Beijing University of Science and Technology, Associate Professor Zhang Mingyue from East China Normal University, Professor Zhu Jin from Jinan University, Professor Meng Lu from Southwest Jiaotong University, Assistant Professor Duan Shen from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Associate Researcher Sun Hao from the University of Science and Technology of China. Vice Dean Tang Guiyao from Shandong University, School of Management attended the event and delivered a speech.
Opening Ceremony
Tang Guiyao introduced the disciplinary development of the School of Management, faculty construction, societal impact, international cooperation, and the achievements of the Department of Marketing and International Business.
Professor Chen Haipeng shared his work experiences and encouraged everyone to find joy in research, emphasizing the importance of enjoying every moment spent in scientific inquiry.
Professor Zhou Xinyue encouraged everyone to actively participate in academic conferences, share their research findings.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Zhao Haichuan, the Director of the Department of Marketing and International Business.
Academic Salon
During the keynote presentation phase, Professor Yang Zhilin and Associate Professor Su Lei delivered talks titled "The Dynamic Effect of ESG Disclosure on the Buyer-Supplier Relationship" and "Scroll or Swipe: How Mobile Navigation Design Influences Shopping Behavior," respectively.
Professor Wang Xingyuan from the Department of Marketing and International Business moderated this session.

The Discipline Development Forum
The Discipline Development Forum was held in the afternoon, gathering faculty representatives from more than a dozen universities both domestically and internationally, along with faculty members from the Department of Marketing and International Business. Participants shared their insights on teaching and nurturing students while discussing the development of their academic disciplines. The round-table meeting was hosted by Associate Professor Ren Rong.
At the beginning of the round-table meeting, Professor Tang Guiyao and Professor Zhao Haichuan provided a detailed overview of the development of the Department of Marketing and International Business, including its discipline construction, faculty structure, and scientific research. Faculty representatives from various universities and regions engaged in in-depth discussions on talent cultivation, research directions, team building, research resources and platforms, academic ecology, and evaluation mechanisms, drawing on their own experiences and achievements in their respective institutions.
The convening of the Marketing Technology and Innovation Academic Salon and Discipline Development Forum further clarified the construction and development goals of the Marketing and International Business disciplines. It has a positive impact on promoting the modernization of the college's disciplines and innovating talent cultivation models. All faculty members of the Department of Marketing and International Business, along with dozens of students from universities at home and abroad, participated in the forum.
