In April the year, undergraduates of the class of 2021, the Department of Culture and Tourism, School of Management, Shandong University, under the leadership of Professor Sun Ping, went to Jingangzuan village to conduct field research and design a study program on the "Spirit of the Foolish Old Man" to help improve the quality of tourism of Jingangzuan village. On June 13th, the class organized a “Three Zeroes Yard” Rural Tourism Counselling Station - Jingangzuan village public welfare study program competition, invited Ma Guangye, Secretary of the Party Branch of Jingangzuan village, Ma Jie, Deputy Secretary, Sun Tongshan, Founder of Jinan Shizikou Township Creation Culture Co., Du Bincai, Product Leader of New Oriental Culture and Tourism, and Wang Rui, Project Leader of the Zhicheng Public Welfare Program, served as expert judges. The event was hosted by Professor Sun.
On the basis of the previous field research on the tourism resources of the village, the students were divided into seven groups to design study programs and present them in turn. The expert judges commented on the creative achievements of each group from the industry perspective. The first group completed a standard study program design that provided a theoretical reference under the title "Carry Forward the Spirit of the Foolish Old Man, Inherit the Culture of Traditional Chinese Medicine - the Method of Study Design in Jingangzuan Village”; the second group created a child-friendly fun activity by introducing the theme of farming culture from the text The Peanuts; the third group experienced a day of the Foolish Old Man from a unique perspective; the fourth group created study routes based on the "twelve Chinese zodiac signs" involved in the Dongyi script tablets, combined with the geographic location of the village, and comprehensively designed the IP image of "the Foolish Old Man", music, and film scripts, etc.; the fifth group designed twelve study routes based on the theme of "stone culture" for study groups of different ages; the sixth group closely combined with "farming culture"; the seventh group envisioned high-end study routes centered on cycling.
Based on the feasibility of practical implementation, the second group was selected as the best program. Secretary Ma highly praised the creativity of the students and awarded the prize to the best group. The proposal will be implemented in Jingangzuan Village to further realize the goal of the "Three Zeroes Yard" project to help rural revitalization through efficient intellectual support.
The activity is one of the "Three Zeroes Yard" projects initiated by the Department of Culture and Tourism, School of Management, Shandong University. Through leading graduate students and undergraduates to carry out service practice and in-depth investigation and research, combined with the design of the study program, to promote the quality upgrading of tourism in the Jingangzuan village and giving full play to the strengths of the Department in rural tourism development and poverty alleviation.
