On June 2nd, Shandong University MBA/EMBA Open Class and 2025 Enrollment Briefing (Jinan) was held. Professor Li Bin of the School gave a public lecture on the theme of "Enigmatic Employee Stock Ownership Plan: Go through Thick, Go through Thin or X?" He discussed the theoretical origin of the effectiveness of equity incentives in detail with the rise and logic of patient capital and analyzed the current hot events of the employee stock ownership plan. Professor Li analyzed the current situation and challenges of the implementation of the employee stock ownership plan by taking the hot topics triggered by major enterprises on the Internet as an example. He emphasized that when implementing the employee stock ownership plan, enterprises must fully consider its reasonableness and fairness to ensure that the rights and interests of every employee can be fully protected. At the same time, the system and arbitrage in employee stock ownership plans should not be ignored. Professor Li said that choosing to study MBA/EMBA is not only for personal career development but also for becoming entrepreneurs and leaders with a sense of social responsibility. Associate Professor Zhang Lei of the School gave a public lecture on the theme of "New Trend of Strategic Management in Chinese Enterprises". He elaborated on the general understanding of strategy in Chinese enterprises and pointed out that to gain competitive advantages and realize long-term development, enterprises must formulate global, fundamental, and long-term strategic plans based on a comprehensive analysis of the external environment and internal resources. According to Associate Professor Zhang, Chinese enterprises are gradually shifting from the pursuit of scale expansion to the pursuit of sustainable growth, and are paying more attention to the cultivation of core competitiveness. At the same time, Chinese enterprises are shifting from unrelated diversification to refocusing development, concentrating their resources on areas where they have competitive advantages. In terms of competitive strategies, Chinese enterprises are gradually shifting from low-cost competition to differentiation strategies, seeking to create a Blue Ocean in the Red Ocean. In addition, with the advent of the era of digital intelligence, enterprise strategy transformation is also facing new opportunities, and digitization, platform, and ecology have become the key to transformation. Associate Professor Zhang emphasized that corporate strategic management needs to pay increasing attention to social responsibility to achieve the Chinese path to modernization, high-quality development, green development, and new quality productivity. He encouraged future managers to change their role from "helmsman" to "organization designer" with better strategic vision and innovation ability.
