On the morning of May 29th, Professor Fan Libo of the Business School, University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) was invited to give an academic lecture titled "China's Technological Progress and Changes through the Terminal Revolution". Professor Chen Zhijun of the School of Management, Shandong University hosted the lecture, and Professor Xu Yuehua, Director of the Department of Strategy Innovation and Entrepreneurship, attended the activity.
Focusing on the theme, Professor Fan shared his views on the history of the world's technological progress and changes, the world's terminal revolution, and China's technological progress and changes. First of all, Professor Fan elaborated on the technological progress and changes in history, analyzed their underlying logic, and explored them through a number of enterprise cases in depth. Professor Fan then analyzed the terminal revolution in-depth, and elaborated on its reality and logic from the film and television industry, Internet industry, and artificial intelligence field. Finally, Professor Fan systematically discussed the history of technological progress and changes in Chinese enterprises from the perspective of the terminal revolution and used the development of high-speed rail technology as a case study to illustrate the technological progress and changes in China.
Fan Libo, Ph.D. in Economics, Huiyuan Distinguished Scholar, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Business School, and Director of the Center for Multinational Corporations (CMC) of the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). His main research areas include multinational operations and strategic management, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance, corporate innovation and leadership. He has published more than 180 papers in Economic Research Journal, Management World, Nankai Business Review, and other academic journals, and 12 monographs and textbooks. He was selected as one of the Huiyuan Distinguished Scholars of the UIBE in 2017, Special Allowances Experts of the State Council in 2012, Millions of Talent Projects National Candidates in the New Century in 2009 and Ministry of Education Outstanding Talent Support Program in 2007. He is a researcher at the China Institute for WTO Studies, a researcher at the Beijing Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and a researcher at the Beijing Open Economy Research Institute, UlBE.
