On May 19th, the “Love Yourself in a Proper Way” Event was held at the central campus of Shandong University. The event was hosted by the Student Working Department and Graduate Working Department of the Party Committee and the Student Counseling Center of Shandong University, and organized by the School of Management, with nearly 300 faculty and students participating from different schools. With the core theme of “Caring and Understanding Yourself”, the event featured some fun and educational activities, such as “Engaging MBTI Science Popularization Exhibition”, “Eight Personality Traits Game”, “Interests Bazaar”, “University Imprints”, “Study Abroad Counselling”, and “Traditional Chinese Medicine and Health Salon”, helping participants embrace themselves and better understand themselves and others.
Following the route of understanding - challenge - exhibition - consultation, participants completed level tasks and seal collection challenges. Among all activities, “Engaging MBTI Science Popularization Exhibition” provided information on the characteristics of various personality types, and allowed participants to draw their personal images to enhance their understanding of other personality types. Focusing on interests and hobbies, “University Imprints” helped participants to find like-minded individuals with friendship cards, and “Traditional Chinese Medicine and Health Salon” invited Luan Yingni from the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the Center for Health and Wellness Services, Shandong University to conduct pulse diagnoses for participants, giving some targeted advice for them to regulate physical and mental health.
Li Kang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, said that it’s inevitable for students to encounter various challenges including academic pressure, interpersonal relationships, and self-identity in the process of growing up, and and it’s important to realize the positive cycle of "understanding oneself - caring oneself - embracing oneself - fulfilling oneself". The event also attracted a lot of attention and participation.
