To promote the development of the School of Management, Shandong University, on the afternoon of May 13th, the School held the appointment ceremony of department directors and the working meeting. Wu Changqi, Dean of the School, Fu Yanzhi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, former and new department directors, and representatives of Party branch secretaries attended the meeting. Vice Dean Tang Guiyao presided over the meeting.
On behalf of the School leadership, Dean Wu expressed his gratitude to former directors for their contributions to the School’s development over the past 6 years. Besides, he put forward several requirements for new directors in terms of international accreditation, talent cultivation, and academic research, and shared his personal insights on how to be an excellent director. He also promised that the School would give full support in administration, funding, and academics to guarantee sustainable development.
Secretary Fu read the appointment document and mentioned that under the leadership of former department directors, remarkable achievements were seen in all aspects of departments including teaching, research, and management, which laid a solid foundation for the overall development of the School. He placed great expectations on new directors, and required them to deal with relationships in terms of personality and work, research fields and other fields, scholarship and management, short-term and long-term development, which can ensure coordinated and sustainable development.
Dean Wu and Secretary Fu conferred certificates of honour to former department directors and appointment letters to new directors.
On behalf of former directors, Sun Tao, Associate Professor of the Department of Project Management and Industrial Engineering, made a speech on previous work and personal experience and expressed gratitude to the School and the faculty for their support. He also expected that new directors could harness their roles to achieve new breakthroughs and enhance the School’s development.
As representatives of the new directors, Xu Yuehua, Professor of the Department of Strategy Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Yu Guodong, Professor of the Department of Project Management and Industrial Engineering, showed their gratitude for the trust and support of the School. They said that they would stay true to their beliefs, dedicate themselves to the work, and learn from predecessors to enhance capabilities.
Liu Guangjian, Assistant Professor of the Department of Leadership and Organizational Management, made a statement on behalf of Party branch secretaries, stating that they will continuously support department work from the aspects of scholarship, teaching and research, along with campus life.
Associate Professor Xin Liguo, Associate Professor Wang Yi, Professor Zhao Peixin, and Professor Li Bin also delivered speeches at the meeting.
The meeting not only reviewed the work of all departments but also planned for future development of the School, which was of great significance in strengthening the overall construction of the School with joint efforts.
