On May 6th, the School of Management held the 2023 Undergraduate Class Adviser Commendation Ceremony and the 2024 Undergraduate Class Adviser Appointment Ceremony. Wu Changqi, Dean of the School, Fu Yanzhi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, and Zhou Lin, Deputy Secretary, attended the meeting. Li Kang, Deputy Secretary, presided over the meeting.
In his speech, Secretary Fu expressed his gratitude to all the class advisers for their contributions to the talent cultivation of the School. He elaborated on the importance of class advisers from three aspects: the university mission, the teacher's responsibility and students’ overall quality. He proposed that the class advisers should care about students' thoughts, learning, and life, provide students with moral education, academic guidance, and professional ability training, as well as other specific requirements.
Secretary Fu read out the list of commended class advisers in the School, and Dean Wu presented award certificates to the commended class advisers.
At the meeting, representatives of outstanding class advisers Wang Jing and Xue Xiaole shared their experiences, and newly appointed class advisers Wu Xiting and Ren Xiantong made speeches.
Dean Wu concluded that class advisers should guide students to build self-confidence, and make every effort to cultivate students of the School to become management elites with a sense of patriotism, a global vision, and leadership; pay attention to guiding students' thoughts, cultivate students' professional ethics, and lay a solid foundation for students' future development; at the same time, strengthen professional learning guidance and personal development guidance, increase the cultivation of research and innovation capabilities, and mobilize resources from various departments in combination with specialty characteristics to cultivate talents.
The School of Management attaches great importance to the construction of the class adviser team and implements the undergraduate class adviser system. It equips each class with advisers with goodness, high level of expertise, and strong dedication. At the same time, it also encourages master teachers, academic backbones, and young teachers to deeply participate in undergraduate education management.
