On April 30th, Kim Yongjune, Dean of the Graduate School of China of Sungkyunkwan University, Bian Wenlong, Director of the Department, and Ko Youngjin, Director of the Korea-China Digital Economy Research Institute, visited the School of Management of Shandong University. Xu Xifeng, Director of the Department of International Affairs, Shandong University, and Wu Changqi, Dean of the School of Management, attended the event.
Director Xu and Dean Wu extended a warm welcome to the guests. Director Xu mentioned that Shandong University and Sungkyunkwan University have always had a deep friendship and the two Schools recently renewed the cooperation agreement. He hoped that the Schools would carry out multi-form cooperation in the future. Shandong University will vigorously promote internationalization and provide all-round support for the School's internationalization work. Dean Wu outlined the mission and vision of the School, discipline development, experimental platform construction, international accreditation and cooperation, and said that China and South Korea respect and trust each other, and on the basis, a more stable, tenacious, and long-term cooperation model should be built, and mutual visits of teachers and students and high-level cooperation should be continuously promoted.
Dean Kim spoke highly of the achievements and discipline development of the School of Management and introduced the history of Sungkyunkwan University and the establishment background, faculty, curriculum, China projects, and international accreditation of the Graduate School of China. He said that the Graduate School of China supports students to discover and pursue their "Chinese Dream" while experiencing the charm of China's modernization, and hopes that the two sides will effectively promote comprehensive cooperation in the fields of teacher-student exchanges, joint training, academic research, and Confucian projects in the future.
At the meeting, Dean Wu and Dean Kim signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation on behalf of the two Schools.
In the afternoon, the Graduate School of China of Sungkyunkwan University held an enrollment briefing, where Director Bian introduced the history, its majors, and program features of the Graduate School of China to the students. After the briefing, Dean Kim and his team visited the Center for Research and Experience of Traditional, Chinese Culture of Shandong University to gain an in-depth understanding of China's history and culture.
Founded in 1398 and located in Seoul, South Korea, Sungkyunkwan University is a comprehensive research university that has been ranked in the top 100 in the QS World University Rankings for many years. In 2005, Sungkyunkwan University, Peking University, and Fudan University jointly established the Graduate School of China and established the first expert training program in the field of Chinese business in South Korea, dedicated to training students to become business elites leading the development of China and South Korea.
