In order to have a more comprehensive understanding of the status quo and problems faced by the doctoral supervisory team of the School of Management, Shandong University, to further promote the reform of the postgraduate cultivation mode, to optimize the construction of the supervisory team system, and to improve the supervisory selection system, the Postgraduate Education Center of the School organized eight sessions of Doctoral Supervisory Team Work Meeting from January to April. Dean Wu Changqi, Vice Dean Zhang Jianghua, and Vice Dean Tang Guiyao attended the meeting.
Vice Dean Zhang said that the meeting focuses on the high-quality development of postgraduate education and the deep development of postgraduate reform, aiming at self-checking the problems of the doctoral supervisory team in team building, enrollment, training, and management. He introduced the cultivation of doctoral students in each team from the aspects of student pool, thesis review, student situation, etc.
The supervisors discussed the current key points and difficulties of doctoral cultivation on the topics of optimizing the team building, enhancing the research atmosphere, and improving the postgraduate quality, and put forward constructive opinions on the School's supervisor selection system and doctoral education work in the light of the actual situation of each team.
In conclusion, Dean Wu emphasized that the cultivation of doctoral students is of vital importance, and the School should improve the guidance ability of the supervisor team, give full play to the strength of cultivating, and implement the fundamental task of establishing morality and educating people; the School should take the improvement of the cultivation quality as a handhold, and continue to carry out the reform and practice of education and teaching to continuously improve the innovation ability of the doctoral students, and promote the output of research achievements.
The School has now formed eight doctoral supervisory teams according to research fields, namely, information management and project management, logistics and supply chain management, data and intelligent decision-making, accounting and finance, strategy innovation and entrepreneurship management, organizational management and leadership research, culture and tourism management, and marketing. Through the eight work meetings, the Center will combine the opinions and suggestions of the supervisors to further improve the relevant norms and construction of the doctoral supervisor team system, follow steps of the cultivation process and quality management, and promote the construction of a comprehensive and guaranteed talent cultivation system.
