School of Management Co-organizes Excellent Case Workshop on Business Administration (2024 Shandong)

On April 18th, the Excellent Case Workshop on Business Administration (2024 Shandong), hosted by the School of Management of Shandong University and the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, was held at the central campus of Shandong University. Wu Changqi, Dean of the School of Management, Shandong University, and Li Jizhen, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, attended the workshop and delivered speeches.



In the speech, Dean Wu expressed his best wishes for the success of the workshop, emphasized the important role of management cases in cultivating future management elites, and expressed his high expectations for the development prospect of case teaching. Vice Dean Li introduced the development history of the China Business Case Center and its contribution to higher education in China and explained the key role of business administration case teaching in cultivating management talents with innovative ability and strategic thinking.


Professor Cai Di from the School of Management hosted the event. The workshop was conducted in the form of lectures and interactive discussions, and in-depth academic exchanges were carried out in the areas of "Digital Transformation of Enterprises", "The Art of Case Teaching and Writing", and "the Standard and Review Process of Case Platform". Vice Dean Li focused on the digital transformation of Chinese enterprises in his academic report titled "Digital Transformation Practices and Case Development of Chinese Enterprises", outlined how digitally enhanced autonomy can lead to enterprise management innovation, and emphasized the core role of digital transformation in improving the competitiveness of SRDI enterprises (small and medium-sized enterprises with specialized, refined, differential, and innovative characteristics) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by means of examples, and analyzed how new quality productive forces can be used in case studies. Professor Cai shared a presentation on "Case Development and Teaching: Reflections and Actions", discussing how case teaching can promote students' deep learning and critical thinking skills. He introduced how to integrate business practices and theoretical knowledge to create teaching cases, and shared the key roles of case teaching in different aspects, as well as how to design and implement case teaching to maximize the learning effect. Professor Wang Chongfeng, Director of the Management Case Study Center of Business College, Qingdao University, presented his exploration and analysis of case writing under the title of "Seeking Theory in Teaching: Explorations in Case Writing", describing in detail how teaching cases can be written in different ways and sharing how to combine theory and practice to provide immersive learning for students. With the title of "Interpretation of Case Platform Standards", Researcher Li Xiaohui from the China Business Case Center shared the professional interpretation of the case platform standards and review process, emphasized the importance of teaching case standards, and outlined Tsinghua University's strategy to develop the Center into an international platform.
