On April 18th, the School of Management of Shandong University held an expert meeting for the professional doctoral degree program in auditing. Professor Cai Chun of the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, member of the National Teaching Steering Committee of Postgraduate Education for Professional Degree in Auditing; Professor Chen Donghua of Nanjing University, member of the Committee in Auditing; Professor Sun Guangguo of the Dongbei University of Finance & Economics, member of the Committee in Auditing; Professor Zhang Jixun of Nankai University, member of the National Teaching Steering Committee of Postgraduate Education for Professional Degree in Accounting; Professor Zhang Longping of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, member of the Committee in Accounting; Liu Jie, Audit Partner of the Financial Sector, KPMG China; Geng Xiangyu, Deputy Director of Audit Research Institute of Shandong Provincial Audit Office; Mei Sheng, Director of Audit Department of Shandong University; and Lu Junwei, Director of Finance Department of Shandong University were invited to attend the meeting. Zhang Jianghua, Vice Dean of the School of Management, presided over the meeting.
Wu Changqi, Dean of the School, introduced the history, characteristics, and development of the School. He said that the School takes serving the major strategic needs of the country as the goal, adheres to the characteristic development of disciplinary, and has formed a professional and modernized model and experience with the characteristics of Shandong University, and hoped that the experts in the meeting would give guidance on the declaration of professional doctoral degree program in auditing. Xu Feng, Director of the Postgraduate Education Office of Shandong University, introduced the basic situation of the current degree program of the University and hoped that the School would fully take the advice of the experts, and further improve the declaration materials in five aspects, namely, the building of faculty, the construction of platforms, the development of practice bases, the necessity of specialty settings, and the advantages of construction. Yao Zhenye, Director of the Auditing Program of the School, reported the declaration situation from the aspects of faculty, talent cultivation, cultivation environment and conditions, research field, and construction objectives.
During the demonstration session, the experts fully discussed the report and declaration materials, affirmed the necessity of applying for the professional doctoral degree in auditing, and gave practical guidance and suggestions in the field of professional degrees, the advantages of School running, and the service of national and local major development strategies. After discussion, the expert group agreed that the School's application for the professional doctoral degree in auditing conforms to the national development strategy, and its declaration is well-prepared and approved.
Fu Yanzhi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, emphasized that the experts’ comments have put forward a fundamental guideline for the School's next step of modifying, perfecting, and upgrading the materials. The School will carefully adopt the valuable opinions and suggestions of experts to further enhance the discipline development, improve the declaration materials, and ensure that the set goals are achieved.
