School of Management Held the First Shandong University Management Culture Festival

From April 13th to 14th, the School of Management held the first Management Culture Festival. Xu Xiaogang, Vice Minister of the Student Affair Office of the Party Committee of Shandong University, Wu Changqi, Dean of the School of Management, Fu Yanzhi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, and Bian Jiang, Division-level Organization Member, attended. The activity is open to all teachers and students in the University, with a total of over a thousand participants.

In the opening speech, Dean Wu indicated that Management is the science of coordinating humans and resources to achieve goals. In addition, Management also interweaves human nature, efficiency, and morality, making it an art form. In practice, it is not only necessary to pursue the optimization of results but also to reflect the wisdom and humanistic spirit in the practical process.

During the activity, the game "Investing in Pineapple" and "Lemon Market", originally designed by students of the School based on professional knowledge of Management, received widespread attention. In the game of "Investing in Pineapple", the participants not only exercised their logical thinking, judgment ability, and risk control ability, while experiencing the joy of investment, but also felt the volatility of the financial market and brought the management knowledge learned in the class into investment practice. In the game of "Lemon Market", the participants achieved their expected trading goals through sharp eyes and negotiation skills, in the absence of mutual trading strategies between buyers and sellers. Every transaction allowed participants to experience the power of choice and unknown excitement, and gain a deeper understanding of the complexity of trading market operations in the game.

In addition, the exhibition boards of management knowledge displayed the life experiences and classic theories of famous management experts such as Peter Drucker, Michael Porter, Konosuke Matsushita, Wang Yingluo, and so on, allowing students to stand on the shoulders of giants to look into the development of management.

The activity also displayed stories of the "Three Zeros Yard" Rural Tourism Counselling Station of the Party Branch for Faculty of the Department of Culture and Tourism from 2014 to 2024. The Station is the first public welfare activity in China for universities to serve rural development. With "zero distance contacting, zero time difference guidance, and zero charge service", it actively connects with rural tourism managers and business owners in Shandong Province and provides intellectual support and free counseling. Over the past decade, the activity has established tutoring stations in 6 cities in the province, covering over 100 households and over a thousand practitioners in more than 20 villages. It has truly achieved a deep exploration of local history and culture, opened up industry-discipline research channels, and helped improve the upgrading of rural tourism. Relevant cases have been included in the China Management Case-sharing Center.

Based on students' learning and practice, the First Shandong University Management Culture Festival integrates specialty characteristics and campus life and blends interactive activities, knowledge sharing, and exploration and development. Through business decision-making simulation and relaxing games, participants can deeply feel the charm of management in the interactive experience.
