On the morning of April 1st, the School of Management held a meeting on talent cultivation and exchange, inviting representatives of senior professors and young teachers from various departments of the School to conduct research discussions on how to strengthen the recruitment and cultivation of talents in the School. Zhu Zichuan, Deputy Minister of the Personnel Department of Shandong University, Shi Jianming, a foreign academician of the Engineering Academy of Japan and a distinguished professor of Shandong University, Song Zhaoli, Associate Professor of the National University of Singapore and Tang Guiyao, Vice Dean of the School of Management attended the meeting, which was hosted by Dean Wu Changqi.
Dean Wu stated that the construction of the talent team is crucial to the overall development of the University and the School, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing talent cultivation while also focusing on talent recruitment. He encouraged teachers at the meeting to recommend top talents in their respective fields, thereby contributing to the development of individuals, the University, and the School. Vice Dean Tang reviewed the talent recruitment and cultivation situation in the School over the past five years and expressed that through the research, a wide range of opinions could be gathered to address challenges and further optimize the recruitment of high-level talents in the School.
Deputy Minister Zhu introduced the national-level and high-level talent plans from the aspects of candidate conditions, application procedures, support and welfare, etc. He combined it with the talent system and growth development path of the University, benchmarked it against similar universities, and engaged in discussions with the teachers on high-level talent projects.
Drawing from their educational and work experiences, teachers freely expressed their opinions on various aspects such as improving talent treatment, supporting team member development, spouse placement, and children’s education. They provided suggestions for talent recruitment and cultivation in the School, including strengthening regular publicity, mobilizing alumni, and utilizing international conferences to voice opinions. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on various aspects of talent recruitment, cultivation, and retention.
