To implement the work requirements of the Research Center of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) on “the management experience of world-class state-owned enterprises applied in cases, textbooks and classrooms”, Zheng Jun, Chief International Business Expert of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and Dean of China Civil Engineering Construction Institute, and Zhang Lei, Vice Dean of the Institute were invited to the first Case Study Lecture of the School of Management.
Before the start of the lecture, the two sides exchanged views on the cases. Wu Changqi, Dean of the School, introduced the development process of the School’s Case Study Center, and the great significance of case teaching and research for the development of enterprises and the cultivation of management talents. Zheng Jun pointed out that the CCECC, with the “14th Five-Year Plan” as its blueprint, consistently carries out the “one country, one policy” and “one region, one policy” initiatives and actively puts the eight major steps of the “Belt and Road” Initiative in place. Also, the company has made a range of achievements and accumulated valuable experience and vivid cases on its way towards establishing itself as a world-class enterprise. It hopes to carry out all-round, multi-angle, and in-depth cooperation with the School and make use of the platform of Shandong University and talent advantages as it strives to upgrade and expand the existing cases, thus achieving win-win development.
In the report, themed on the experience and thinking of CCECC implementing the “Belt and Road” Initiative, Zheng Jun exchanged views on cases with the faculty and students, sharing such typical cases as the construction of the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway and the transport network in Nigeria. During the discussion, the faculty and students of the School conducted exchanges and discussions with Zheng Jun on the internationalization strategy and project management of CCECC.
