In order to implement the concept of “serving Shandong strategy is serving the national strategy, and serving the development of Shandong is serving the development of the nation”, the School of Management, Shandong University has actively responded to the call of “millions of student volunteers in the community”, sending outstanding students, creating a “Weiqing Power” community project matrix, and carrying out the “Xinqing Plan” project to relieve the stress of young people, which has injected new vitality into the primary-level governance of the community through various measures.
The School cooperated with Dongguan Street in Lixia District, Jinan City, and carefully selected outstanding students to go to communities such as the Luohe Community to help the construction of youth development-friendly urban areas. With enthusiasm and responsibility, the eight students visited 16 community streets to understand the needs of the residents and combined the research results with their professional studies to come up with ideas for community development. In addition to assisting in community governance, they also organized a series of community activities, focusing on what residents think and expect through “Music Party Lecture”, “Interactive Games” and other popular ways.
The “Weiqing Power” has built a project matrix around the four themes of “Respect for the Elderly”, “Raising Young People”, “Convenience for the People” and “Propaganda and Publicity”, and has entered into long-term co-operation with four communities, including Honglou Square, Longxin Community and so on, to set up volunteer service bases. Since 2022, it has carried out activities more than 50 times, covering more than 10,000 residents; the “Cool Universe” senior club project spreads knowledge in a new way of “trendy play”, and promotes modern science and technology for the elderly with “party experience”; the Huan Yu Starfire Team, supported by professional characteristics, inspires children and teenagers’ curiosity and desire to explore the earth through a series of interesting and creative practical activities. The “Zhishudali(Educated and Reasonable)” Volunteer Team went to Hongjialou Street, Honglou Square Community to participate in the Love and Convenience Fair to stimulate the new vitality of multi-dimensional co-management in a grounded way. Based on the “attracting+interactive+open” model, the Youth Science Volunteer Service Team and the “Zhishudali(Educated and Reasonable)” Volunteer Service Team joined hands to create a popular science theme month.
At the same time, the School also paired with the Huaiyin Square community to carry out the “Xinqing Plan” youth group stress relief project in Shandong Jinan No.20 Middle School and Honglou Square Community. Relying on the professional guidance of the School’s secondary psychological counseling stations, and with the overall goal of promoting the standardization and refinement of volunteer services, the School has established a mechanism for training volunteers, with a cumulative total of 20 hours of training. The activities have been carried out for a total of 5 sessions, adopting a combination of interactive lectures, collective activities, and personalized services to provide comprehensive psychological support and services for the youth, serving more than 300 youths in total.
