Recently, Shandong Provincial Education Department announced the list of 2023 Shandong Province Schools & Universities Teaching Awards, and Professor Meng Qingchun of the School of Management, Shandong University was honored.
The selection of the Shandong Province Schools & Universities Teaching Award is an important initiative of Shandong Province to strengthen the construction of teachers in higher education institutions, aiming to provide intellectual and teachers’ support for the high-quality development of Shandong Province’s higher education by cultivating and selecting teachers who have excellent political qualities, advanced educational concepts, solid professional knowledge, remarkable effect of educating people, outstanding academic achievements, and the courage to reform and innovate.
The School actively carries forward the spirit of educators, attaches great importance to the cultivation of master teachers, constantly improves the evaluation mechanism of teachers, introduces the Reward Measures for Undergraduate Education and Teaching of the School of Management, guides the teachers of the School to actively devote themselves to the work of education and teaching, stimulates the motivation of teachers to teach and their vitality to innovate, enhances the sense of obtaining, honor and happiness of teachers, and creates a good environment for the all-around development of teachers and their devotion to the cultivation of human beings. In December 2023, according to the requirements of the Notice of Shandong Provincial Education Department on the Selection of Shandong Province Schools & Universities Teaching Award in 2023, the School of Management seriously organizes and carries out the recommendation of candidates. The School will take the selection as an opportunity to strengthen the construction of the teaching team and the cultivation of master teachers, give full play to the leading role of master teachers, inspire and guide the teachers of the School to advocate morality and virtue, dedication, and learning, and to create a high-quality faculty for the development of the School, meeting the 40th Teachers’ Day with more excellent results.
Meng Qingchun is a professor of the School of Management, a doctoral supervisor, and the director of the Artificial Intelligence Management and Decision Simulation Laboratory of Shandong Higher Education Institutions. He has long been engaged in teaching and researching supply chain management and emergency decision-making and also serves as the Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economic Mathematics. In the past 6 years, he has taught 5 undergraduate courses and 4 practical courses and his several courses have been awarded national and provincial first-class courses. He has presided over more than 10 key programs of teaching reform research in undergraduate colleges and universities in Shandong Province and edited 5 textbooks. He led teams to explore and implement the “whole process, modular management experimental teaching system based on ‘two-axis linkage’”, which was awarded the second prize of 2022 National Teaching Achievements, and recognized as the “Shandong University Model” of management experimental teaching. He has guided many students to win the President Scholarship of Shandong University and other awards.
