On January 20th, the School of Management held the award ceremony of “Changeway Project Management Scholarship of Shandong University”. Fu Yongkang, Chairman of Shanghai Changeway Management Consulting Co., Ltd, Xia Aofu, Chairman of Shandong Wenheng Technology Co., Ltd, Wu Changqi, Dean of the School of Management, Shandong University, Fu Yanzhi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Zhang Jianghua, Vice Dean of the School, Li Kang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, were present at the ceremony. Supervisor representatives and MEM masters attended the event.
In his speech, Dean Wu introduced the two characteristics of the engineering management program of the School: “project management +” and the integration of Chinese engineering spirit and international vision. He encouraged the students to pursue excellence, be steady and capable, integrate their ideals into the development of the times, serve the national strategy, and support the development of enterprises. Chairman Fu said that the intention of establishing Changeway Scholarship is to give back to the students and the society. Changeway has also cooperated with Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and other universities for scholarships. In the future, Changeway will further improve the work of scholarship and assistantship with Shandong University, so as to take the corporate mission and social responsibility of Changeway.
Guo Xiangchao, the representative of the award-winning students, said that winning the Changeway Project Management Scholarship is not only the affirmation of the past efforts but also the expectation for the future. He thanked the faculty team of the School for helping him to set a clearer career plan for the future. He also looked forward to the future based on the university motto of “Noble in Spirit; Boundless in Knowledge”.
In her conclusion, Li Kang put forward requirements for MEM students: first, to do the learning of the times, observe the times, grasp the times, and do the academic research to lead the times; second, to do the learning of practice, rooted in the needs of the country’s development, and to do the learning needed by the nation and the people; third, to do the learning of the world, to carry forward Chinese management thoughts and to take up the new cultural mission in the new era.
The “Changeway Project Management Scholarship of Shandong University” was established in 2021. It is the first scholarship for part-time professional degrees established by Shandong University, aiming at rewarding outstanding students with innovative thinking and project management ability, deepening their knowledge of the project management knowledge system, and cultivating outstanding talents in engineering management with “mission, dedication, innovation and high efficiency”.
