Professor Pan Ailing Received a Major Program from the National Social Science Fund of China

Recently, the National Philosophy and Social Science Work Office announced the list of major programs of the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) for the year 2023, and the program “Research on the Realization Path and Policy Design for the High-Quality Development of the Digital Culture Industry” declared by Professor Pan Ailing of the School of Management of Shandong University received program approval (Approval No.23& ZD086). This is the third major program of Professor Pan approved by the NSSFC, for which she is the chief expert.


The major program will take into account the characteristics of the digital economy era, aim at the current difficulties in the development of China’s digital culture industry, and conduct systematic research on realization path and policy design for the high-quality development of the digital culture industry based on multidisciplinary theories, from structure to layout, from macroscopic to microcosmic, and from system to policy. It mainly explores the following contents: the factual basis, target setting, and theoretical logic of the high-quality development of the digital culture industry; the digital leap of value chain and the structural upgrading of cultural industry; interconnection of physical space and virtual space and multi-dimensional spillover effect of cultural industry; digital transformation of traditional culture enterprises and quality enhancement and innovation of new cultural enterprises; design of the policy system for the high-quality development of digital culture industry and the implementation guarantee, and so on. The research results will enrich the research on the digital cultural industry, provide feasible paths and decision-making references for bringing into play the driving effect of the digital cultural industry and promoting the structural upgrading and spatial optimization of the digitally-enabled culture industry, and offer policy design ideas and theoretical bases for the “innovation and entrepreneurship” of Chinese excellent traditional culture.


Pan Ailing is a Level-2 professor of the School, a Selected Candidate for the National People’s Ten Thousand Talents Program, and a Distinguished Professor of Taishan Scholars. She has presided over a total of more than 30 programs, including major programs and key programs of the NSSFC, provincial programs, ministerial programs, etc. Her main research areas are mergers and acquisitions and reorganizations, group finance, and investment and financing in the cultural industry, etc. She has published more than 100 papers in journals such as Economic Research Journal, China Industrial Economics, Nankai Business Review, Accounting Research, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, etc., many of which have been reprinted by Renda Periodicals or extracted from the arguments of Xinhua Digest. The relevant result has been selected in the National Library of Philosophy and Social Sciences and awarded the Major Achievement Award (Grand Prize), Excellent Social Science Achievements of Shandong Province.
