Recently, the “Xiaoshulin” Voluntary Teaching and Research Group guided by the School of Management won the honorary titles of 2023 Shandong University “Power of Role Model” Person of the Year and 2023 Shandong Youth Volunteer Outstanding Organization.
The Shandong University “Xiaoshulin” Voluntary Teaching and Research Group is a voluntary public welfare student association that takes short-term teaching as the core, and comprehensively carries out volunteer service and social practice. The Group has now built more than 40 teaching sites in 13 provinces including Shandong, Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Chongqing, and Anhui, becoming the largest association platform for short-term voluntary teaching at Shandong University. A total of more than 2,100 volunteers have been selected, with a total volunteer time of more than 100,000 hours, and a total of more than 100 charity donations and sales activities have been carried out to serve the development of basic education in various places. Their deeds have been publicized and reported by People’s Daily, CCTV.com, China.com, Guangming Daily, Shandong TV, etc.
In 2023, combined with the requirements of the School Association Branding program operation, the Group constructed the “146N” development model, focusing on internal reform and construction, external opening and cooperation, service transformation and upgrading, and characteristic branding. Under the support and guidance of the University and the School, the association has studied and implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, improved the coverage and effectiveness of associations in educating, and become an important platform for cultivating students’ public welfare awareness, serving students’ public welfare actions, and also an important force in the construction of campus volunteer services.
In the future, the Group will continue to promote the reform and construction of the association, deepen the connotation of the service construction of students’ voluntary teaching activities, and encourage more students of Shandong University to make contributions in the road of public welfare and practice.
