Associate Professor Andrew Yu of Melbourne University, Australia Give an Academic Report

On the afternoon of December 22, Associate Professor Andrew Yu of the University of Melbourne, Australia, was invited to give an academic report titled “Building an Effective Academic Career” to the School of Management. The report is one of the Famous Lecture Theatre Series of the School of Management, and Wang Zheng, Associate Professor of the Department of Leadership and Organizational Management, presided over the report, with young teachers and master and doctoral students attended.

In the report, Associate Professor Yu shared his views on “Building an Academic Career”, pointing out that research is about trying, failing and learning. He believed that academic topics and interests would change through these processes, and encouraged students to seek different ideas and interests for self-development. In the process of research, scholars need to keep asking “why” and exploring the meaning of research. Subsequently, Associate Professor Yu put forward his viewpoints on academic collaboration, saying that academic collaboration needs to consider a series of elements such as framework construction, statistical analysis, writing and research design. After the report, Associate Professor Yu and the participating teachers and students had an in-depth exchange and discussion on the theme and ideas of the report.
