On December 2nd, the 3rd Sustainable Food Supply Chain Innovation Forum 2023 and Sustainable Operation and Management Innovation Salon in Interdisciplinary Perspective was held in Jinan. The forum was hosted by the School of Management of Shandong University and the Liberal Arts Laboratory of the Artificial Intelligence Management and Decision Simulation in Higher Education Institutions in Shandong Province (Class A) and organized by the Department of Information System and Supply Chain Management of the School, and the Shandong University Logistics and Supply Chain Management Institute, with the participation of nearly 70 experts, scholars and business representatives.
Professor Meng Qingchun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, pointed out the importance of high-quality development of the food supply chain and research on sustainable food supply chain in the light of the national policy and the actual situation of Shandong Province. Professor Xie Jingci, Director of the Shandong University Logistics and Supply Chain Management Institute, presided over the opening ceremony and introduced the background, the research results and the outlook of the forum.
Focusing on the theme of “Sustainable Food Supply Chain under the Interdisciplinary Integration”, the forum invited Professor Zhou Jiehong of Zhejiang University, Professor Li Fangyi of Shandong University, Professor Ruan Junhu of Northwest A&F University, Professor Chen Jiguang of Xiamen University, Researcher Li Jianyong of Shandong University, Senior Engineer Yu Huaizhi, Vice Minister of Science and Technology R&D Department of the National Engineering Technology Research Center for Modern Produce Logistics, Professor Pu Xujin, Dean of the School of Business, Jiangnan University, Associate Professor Jiang Peng of Shandong University, Xu Limin, President of Zhengzhou United Agricultural Commodities Trade Center Co., Ltd., and Wu Jian, Executive Director of Zhengzhou United Bulk Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. to give reports.
Professor Zhou gave a report entitled “Machine Learning Based on Food Safety Risk Prediction and Regulatory Policy Implications: Fresh Aquatic Products as an Example”. Based on the samples of fresh aquatic products sampled from 2014-2022 in China, she constructed a machine learning prediction model for the risk of fresh aquatic products and analyzed the impact of important features on the risk of fresh aquatic products by econometric methods.
Professor Li gave a report entitled “Green Design and Manufacturing and its Standardization”, which combined the current research status and research hot-spots of green design, highlighted the key bottlenecks in the implementation of green design, and further introduced the standardization status and development of green design and manufacturing.
Professor Ruan gave a report entitled “Internet of Things (IoT) E-commerce for Fresh Agricultural Produce: Growers’ Cognition and Willingness and Optimization of Key Link Operations”. He discussed the willingness of fresh agricultural produce growers to participate in IoT e-commerce and the main factors affecting them, constructed an IoT e-commerce model for produce based on the life cycle of produce, and cooperated with JD.com to carry out the innovation and practice of produce e-commerce model under the IoT environment.
Professor Chen gave a report entitled “Can Agricultural Crowdfunding Ease Agricultural ‘Crowd Sorrows’?” He shared the recent development of agricultural crowdfunding in China based on the scenario of agricultural planting and production in China.
Researcher Li gave a report entitled “Key Technology Development and Application of Biomass Fully Degradable Functional Material Products”, which systematically studied biomass fully degradable material with green packaging and its product mixing, molding methods, and key technologies, and developed a series of biomass product material formulas, and the first set of fast-exhausting new biomass composite material production equipment in China.
Engineer Yu gave a report entitled “Food Cold Chain Logistics Technology Service System and Transparent Supply Chain”, introducing the development trend and supporting documents of produce storage and preservation of cold chain facilities, pointing out that the competition among industries has risen to the inclusive competition between supply chains with intelligence, wisdom, transparency and sharing, and focusing on the pre-production.
Professor Pu gave a report entitled “Integrated Scheduling of Picking and Distribution of Fresh Agricultural Products Using a Q-Learning-Based Multi-Objective Cooperation Evolutionary Algorithm” which establishes a mathematical model with the objectives of minimizing total operation cost and maximizing customer satisfaction and designs a Q-learning-based cooperative evolutionary algorithm with problem-specific knowledge.
Associate Professor Jiang gave a report entitled “Multi-attribute Decision-making Techniques and Sustainable Supplier Selection”, which reconstructs and optimizes the traditional sustainable supplier selection method based on a grey multi-attribute decision-making technique.
Xu Limin and Wu Jian gave a report entitled “Artificial Intelligence Integration + Financial Empowerment: Constructing a Safe, Efficient and Sustainable Food Supply Chain System”, which put forward the topic of how to construct a sustainable supply chain system and discussed the definition of trade-based financing and the application of IoT equipment.
The forum discussed the innovation of a sustainable food supply chain under the new development stage and pattern, demonstrated the latest research results and innovative practices in the field, and played a positive role in promoting the development of a sustainable food supply chain.
