To further promote the targeted assistance, from October 31st to November 1st, Meng Qingchun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Management, led a team to Liuzhuang Town, Queshan County of Henan Province, to carry out research.
On the afternoon of October 31st, the School held a meeting with Liuzhuang town and carried out in-depth exchanges on how to improve the quality and effectiveness of the targeted support. The staff of the People’s Government of Queshan County introduced the basic situation of Liuzhuang town and the development of industrial projects, and hoped that the School would give guidance on the design and planning of key cultural and tourism projects, brand cultivation of local produce, and the integration of industrial resources. Secretary Meng introduced the development results of the School in the faculty, talent training, and social services, combined with the School’s advantages in discipline faculty, talent training, alumni work, social services, etc., and put forward four specific initiatives to promote the future development of Liuzhuang town. First, build a “management + training think tank”. Organize the School’s excellent teachers to go to Liuzhuang town to carry out thematic training on issues such as rural revitalization, produce e-commerce, and enterprise management and operation modes, etc. Second, build a “management + information platform”. Donate computers, projectors, desks, and chairs for the upgrading needs of village committees and primary and middle schools in Liuzhuang town and build a modern information platform. Third, carry out a “management + voluntary teaching project”. Actively responding to the strategy of prioritizing the education development and based on the implementation of the tasks of the School’s Postgraduates Voluntary Teaching Corps, the School will organize the winter and summer holiday teaching activities, with a focus on humanistic cultivation and mental health education. Fourth, create a “management + service system”. Research the development status of local SMEs, and provide advice on production and operation management. The staff and enterprise representatives expressed their gratitude to the School for its long-term targeted support and said that they would take advantage of the resources of the School in the areas of think tanks and social services to further deepen the cooperation between the two sides, consolidate the results of the poverty alleviation, and comprehensively push forward the revitalization of the countryside.
Wang Guangzhen, Professor of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the School, gave a training lecture on the theme of “Rural Revitalization and the Integration of Culture and Tourism” for all the cadres of the town authorities, introducing the excellent cases of rural culture and tourism and the specific methods of the integration of rural culture and tourism and putting forward suggestions for promoting the development of the culture and tourism industry in Liuzhuang town. After the lecture, the researchers visited the students of Shandong University’s Postgraduates Voluntary Teaching Corps who were teaching in Laozangzhuang Primary School and Queshan No.2 Middle School in Queshan County.
On the morning of November 1st, the research team visited the paddy field park, agricultural service center, village-level poverty alleviation factories, and other institutes in Liuzhuang town, and had in-depth exchanges with heads of enterprises in various projects. The team also researched the development status of the key industrial projects in Liuzhuang town, and put forward the development suggestions in the direction of marketing and promotion, culture and tourism experience project design, brand upgrading of regional products, and the scale expanding of the village-level factories.
