The School hosted the featured education activity for the 23rd grade freshmen, kicking off the semester with the topic of “Professional Growth of Students in the AIGC Era”, fully utilizing the advantages of the university’s project and gathering resources from various parties to set up a smooth communication platform. On October 12th, the School invited the international certified public accountant Cai Chuqing from Golden Education Group as the guest speaker to discuss and share the impact of the new technological changes triggered by Chat GPT on the industry and the coping strategies, and invited 2021 undergraduate Yang Yonghui and 2022 undergraduate Song Ziyi of the School as student representatives to discuss and share.
Cai Chuqing introduced the development trend of Chat GPT, and suggested that AI has caused a huge impact while improving business efficiency, enriching entertainment life, and creating potential value in the industry, combined with the background of the times and the current development of new technologies. To better meet the changes and challenges brought by AI, he put forward three suggestions based on professional content and enterprise needs. First, to have a sense of purpose and a clear direction of development. Second, to improve the thinking level through turning passive and negative thinking into active and positive thinking, so as to firmly grasp the initiative of science and technology to make AI become an auxiliary tool. Third, to change from an answerer to a questioner, emphasize the importance of career planning, and use technology to help personal development and clarify core competitiveness and learning direction to turn threats into opportunities, preparing for future challenges.
During the sharing and exchange session, Song Ziyi talked about the growth experience around student activities and information barriers. She proposed to balance the breadth and depth of activities and reasonably allocate time and energy, and shared the ways to collect information. She also shared ACCA preparation experience and gains to help students understand the related financial certificates and increase opportunities and space for future development. Yang Yonghui shared his experience from two perspectives, internship and research. In terms of internship, he proposed to cultivate core competitiveness to gain advantages and enterprises’ recognition. As to research, he recommended basic books, pointing out that a solid base of professional knowledge is the most fundamental power to move forward. In the Q&A session, Cai Chuqing answered the questions and gave pertinent suggestions, which deepened students’ understanding of AIGC era and career development, and helped them further clarify their career planning.
The activity explained the direction of professional development under the new technological changes for the students and helped students further understand the characteristics of their majors and clarify the direction of future employment, triggering students to think about their career planning and laying the foundation for more possibilities of choosing a career in the future.
