The School of Management Held Symposiums for Undergraduate Class Teachers in the 2023 Fall Semester

To promote undergraduate education and training in a solid and efficient manner and establish a high-quality communication channel between faculty and the School of Management, the School held three symposiums for class teachers on the work in the 2023 fall semester from September 15th to 21st, answering questions for the teachers of the Class of 2022, the Innovative Experimental Class, and the Class of 2021, respectively.


Meng Qingchun, Secretary of the Party Committee, emphasized the important role of class teachers in the education and training of undergraduates and their ideological guidance with his own experience as a class teacher. He said that in the face of the new requirements for the construction of a high-quality education system in the new era, it is necessary to deeply understand the connotation of Good Teachers in the “Four Have”, which requires teachers to have ideals and beliefs, moral sentiments, solid knowledge and a heart of benevolence. Teachers should take “preaching, teaching and solving problems” as the first responsibility and mission, and be the “Guides in Four Aspects” for students’ growth with the sentiment of “benevolence and love”, which requires teachers to guide students to have excellent character, rich knowledge, innovative spirit, love for the country and the Party.



Fu Yina emphasized that class teachers should combine their work with the characteristics of their majors, grasp the characteristics of the students of “the generation after 00s”, and provide guidance to undergraduates in terms of class organization construction, learning spirit cultivation, employment guidance, and daily conversation. For Class 2022, the School should open up information communication channels to help students understand the details of their major streams and explore their potential. For the Innovation Experimental Class, an important exploration in undergraduate education, class teachers should grasp the development of the students in time to push forward the cultivation of the Innovation Experimental Class in a solid and efficient way. For Class 2021, who are in the critical period of life planning, class teachers need to guide the them to think carefully about their future development whether for further study or employment.



Class teachers exchanged and discussed their teaching and management experience, involving many hot issues such as student development planning, optimization of existing training programs, tutor participation, student motivation, and key information exchange channels. The symposiums reached an agreement that corresponding experience sharing symposiums and skill competitions will be further launched on the basis of establishing information exchange groups for postgraduate recommendation, postgraduate entrance examination and employment, so as to break down information barriers to broaden the information channels for further study and employment, and help students improve their comprehensive quality and competitiveness.
