To guide the students in the social practice to cultivate the devotion to family and country, understand the national and people’s conditions, increase knowledge and competence, and stimulate the responsibility of the young in the new era, the School of Management of Shandong University deployed and arranged the 2023 Summer Social Practice. The School declared a total of 48 teams, covering 378 undergraduates and postgraduates, with over 20 provinces, cities and autonomous regions radiating around the center of Shandong Province as the practice places. With clear and diversified themes, based on the encouragement of professional integration, the practice held innovative activities in three major categories, namely, university-level special programs, school-level programs, and school-level general programs, to build up a three-dimensional option of “university- school” vertical and horizontal and “special and general” intersection.
To adapt to the development of the new century and follow the original mission of educating talents for the country, Qingshan Service Propaganda Team from the School of Management of Shandong University carried out various practical and propaganda activities with the community as the main body, such as identifying online telecommunication fraud, consulting on college entrance examination volunteering, passing on the red gene, and promoting the spirit of the rule of law. The team has always adhered to the original intention of young people to serve and contribute to the society, bringing the residents closer to the national policies to enhance and obtain the people’s sense of well-being.
The Youth Bird Research Group from the School of Management of Shandong University went into the state-owned enterprises to understand the historical accumulation of the development of large-scale enterprises, in-depth experience model family to experience the ordinary but bright grassroots enthusiasm of the initial heart. “Tell the story of youth, spread the voice of youth, and compose the hymn of youth”. The Youth Bird Research Group has always insisted on interpreting the devotion to family and country from the perspective of youth, and searching for youth answers with the power of role models.
The master and doctoral service team from the School, rooted in Shandong Province, dialogued with Weihai Communist Youth League, diversified and systematically perceived its constructive achievements in promoting the well-being of people’s lives, and put forward effective solutions to the problems in the current development through field research on Whale Park Street and visiting representative locations such as Weihai Social Governance Center, Youth Development Service Center, and Integral Elderly Care Model Center.
The “Searching for the Countryside” Rural Specialty Industry Research Team went to Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, to investigate the pepper plantation and exquisite Yi embroidery in Xide County, experiencing the development of Xichang “Red Tourism+Green Ecology” culture and tourism. The team focused on the diversified and differentiated development of Liangshan Prefecture, and used “Internet +” technology to provide new ideas for the development of Liangshan Prefecture’s characteristic industries, hoping to find opportunities and contribute to the rural revitalization.
With the national responsibility of education, through integrating aesthetic education with moral, intellectual, physical and labor education, the Aid-education Team from the School of Management of Shandong University fully exploited the beauty of mind, language, behavior, health, diligence and art contained in each subject, which embodied the spirit of Chinese aesthetic education and the aesthetic qualities of the nation, and guided the children to form correct aesthetics while striving to improve the comprehensive quality of students.
The Volunteer Team worked with over 40 orphaned children to carry out a number of thematic activities such as cultural experience, legal education, and accompaniment and exchange to help the children develop in all around. The children may be materially poor, but they are spiritually rich. The Team will always adhere to the original intention of delivering warmth and happiness, and accompany more orphaned children to grow up healthily.
The School launched a series of practice activities in Jinan, Zaozhuang and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. In this summer, the students of the School started the CITY WALK trip, which gave a more “youthful” concept to the social practice of students while enjoying the city aesthetics.
