To strengthen the labor education of young students and the cultivation of labor spirit, the School of Management actively carried out the theme activity of Labor Education Month in May with the theme of “Forging Ahead in the New Era, Labor in Youth”, guiding the students to promote practice through learning, be realistic and dedicate themselves, sweat youth in labor, and draw striving force in practice.
Understand the spirit and learn from the example of labor. All grades of the school have responded to the call and carried out diversified activities in the form of “online+offline” and “theory+practice”, forming a strong labor atmosphere. The 2020 Engineering Management Branch organized to watch the documentary “Craftsmen of Great Powers” to learn the development of China’s manufacturing industry, and called on students to understand the profound connotation of the spirits of model workers and craftsmen from the typical deeds of typical figures; through two weeks of engineering training, the 2021 intelligent engineering and management innovation experimental class has a deeper understanding of subject characteristics and engineering technology and improved the ability to solve practical problems; the Class 7 of 2022 Business Administration, held the theme activity of “Environmental Protection Starts with Me”, and carried out voluntary labor including wiping signs, fitness equipment and benches in the park, carrying forward the spirit of labor education and cherishing the fruits of labor.
Serve the grassroots and practice creation fashion. The Young Volunteers Association of the School of Management carefully organized the matrix activities of “Micro-Youth Power” to serve the community around the four themes of respecting the elderly, educating the young, preaching, and facilitating the people, and went deep into the community, receiving labor education and realizing the value of labor in grassroots services. The activities were connected with Longxin Community in Dongfeng Street, Garden Community (North Area) in Hongjialou Street, Zhongqu Community and Feicuiqinghe Community. The services were rich in content and diverse in forms, covering various life services such as small mobile phone classes for the elderly and anti-fraud propaganda. Various measures were taken to enhance the residents’ sense of acquisition, belonging and happiness, encourage students to take responsibility, and stand in the front line of serving the masses and contributing to society.
Clarify the direction and improve the employment quality. The Social Practice Department of the Students’ Union of the School of Management took the opportunity of the series of career planning competitions to hold the 10th Career Planning Competition of the School of Management of Shandong University and the Resume Interview Competition of the School of Management of Shandong University. Through the mode of “writing independently, selecting collectively, and aiming at guidance”, these competitions divided students at all levels into stages, groups and tracks, and provided simulated situations such as resume screening and interview, combining personal exploration with college guidance to help students to cultivate professional ability in a targeted way, establish a sense of hard work in an all-round way, and promote to achieve higher-quality employment.
